My daddy, Jimmy Anderson, a Choctaw Indian, grew up in Idabelle, Oklahoma and when he married my mom who grew up in the northwoods of Wisconsin-they moved to Chicago, where I grew up. To show you how important great down home cooking was in my family. My dad used to drive my mom down south every other weekend until she learned how to cook great tasting Southern foods! So I grew up eating crispy southern fried chicken, barbecued ribs, honey buttered cornbread, big fluffy buttermilk biscuits, lemon meringue pie, peach cobbler, and fresh squeezed lemonade. All these recipes I learned from my mom and they are the best and lip smackin' gooood!

So you can see why Southern cooking, old fashioned barbeques, backyard picnics, and old fashioned down home cooking has been a life long passion for me. For 35 years, I have traveled the backroads of rural America and small town sidestreets of this great country in search of the best tasting recipes.
